On Tuesday, July 14, pop star Katy Perry released the music video of her brand new single ‘Smile’. It is the title track of her upcoming fifth studio album, scheduled to be released on August 14. This album will also feature tracks like ‘Daisies’, ‘Never Really Over, and ‘Harleys in Hawaii.’
In this video, the 35-year-old pregnant singer is seen wearing fashionable clown makeup and attire – polka-dotted, orange blazer along with a matching blue jumper and a tuxedo designed in the front. She is cheerfully speaking the words about getting her smile back.
While dancing on the screen with a number of giant clown hands at the background and sitting on the big clown shoe, she sings, ‘Yeah, I’m thankful/ Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful/ Gotta say it’s really been a while/ But now I got back that smile/ I’m so thankful/ Scratch that, baby, I’m grateful/ Now you see me shine from a mile/ Finally got back that smile, smile’.
The miniaturized singer is also seen balancing herself and almost getting blown away by a bouquet of yellow balloons. Throughout the entire video, the singing superstar dancer her heart out on objects that are larger-than-life, even a huge set of teeth; she even polished the teeth with a huge toothbrush. All in all the video is quite funny, cheerful, and enjoyable.
Katy Perry is currently expecting her first child with her fiancé Orlando Bloom. She announced about the release with the teaser of the video and the caption: ‘Turn ur frown upside down because a performance video of #SMILE is up now at the link in my bio.’
