Buffalo rapper Conway the Machine joins German producer Wun Two for their first collaboration. ‘Palermo’ boasts a total of ten tracks, all beats by Wun Two along with features from KNDRX and Goosebythe Way. Italian-laden samples permeate the album, accentuating its thematic fragrance. The cover highlights the creation of Letizia Battaglia, a remarkable Italian photographer who became famous for her anti-mafia activism, aligning with the theme of truth and resistance. This also marks Conway’s debut full-length collaboration with a German producer that sparks anticipation. The Hip-Hop album consists of tracks like ‘Interlude’, ‘Carduni’, ‘Mind Tricks’, and ‘Brick by Brick’. Now together with German trap producer Wun Two, Conway is riding out 2023 with ‘Palermo’, an intensely clouded, loaded release that eats like a huge holiday snack after a maudlin family funeral. The co-founder of Griselda Records and Toast of Buffalo with his brother Westside Gunn and cousin Bunny the Butcher, the coarse voice of Conway, his free-jazz verse-crafting, impromptu, and deliberate delivery is jeopardy personified.

  •  The Iron Claw (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [A24 Music] by Richard Reed Parry

Orchestral tragedy meets cheesed-up ’80s soundtrack in Richard Reed Parry’s score for A24’s latest release ‘The Iron Claw’. Like seeking a sonic middle ground between ‘Top Gun and Minari’, Parry’s musical drama influences the movie’s Von Erich brothers (Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White), the real story behind one family’s fraught quest for glory in the world of 1980s competitive wrestling. The film primarily focuses on the true story of Kevin and Kerry Von Erich—played by Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White, respectively—as they navigate family trauma and the rocky landscape of 1980s professional wrestling. The score follows Parry’s Eileen score, released this month The Arcade Fire composer’s score veers from electric athletic anthems to doleful ambiance to string arrangements fit for a funeral procession, muted horns for the march into battle, and more eerie, minimalistic soundscapes, reminiscent of an empty gym’s soft clangs and creaks. Tracks like ‘The Claw’, ‘The Bent Ear’, ‘C’est Shiek’, and ‘The Main Event’ are there in the stunning album amidst the twenty.

Summoning the lost art of the rap dynamic duo, G’s Us challenges a damaged society, discombobulated status, and trade bars, and finally presents a celebration of lyrical dexterity which welcomes the listeners to revel in the utter joy of language. ‘Onward is the protocol…’, wrapped up by Steel Dove’s brooding production, ‘What Dogs Don’t Know They Know’ reveals a dangerous and Technicolor narrative with Suede and Ferreira’s dueling raps providing urgent paradigms. Every music track is a vibrant stroke, a syllabic courtship, and a bold declaration into the world of G’s Us.
