Singer Ananya Birla Says She Has Made The ‘Hardest Decision’ To Quit Music

Ananya Birla announces that she is quitting music while hoping that someday people of this country will appreciate English music made by their own people.

Singer Ananya Birla announces that she is quitting music to focus all her energy on her business ventures. Taking to Instagram on Monday, the artist shared her message with her fans and followers and penned down an emotional note, leaving many heartbroken. She also said that balancing her business and managing music at the same time is “taking a toll on me in ways that I can’t express”. Ananya said, “Guys, this has been the hardest decision. I’ve reached a stage where balancing both the businesses I run and am building + music is becoming near impossible, and it’s taking a toll on me in ways that I can’t express. Thank you for all the love music I’ve released over the years. I hope one day we can appreciate English music made by our own people as there is so much talent in our own country.” She added, “Thank you again. It’s time I focus all my energies on the business world (folded hands emoji).”

Many followers of her have reacted emotionally to the post which includes some celebrities as well. Armaan Malik said, “So sad to hear that, Ananya, but you keep doing you! More power to all your dreams and future endeavors.” He and Ananya both worked in a recent Bollywood film together. Actor Bobby Deol also expressed his feelings in her post. Bobby Deol wrote, “Wish you the best in whatever you do in your life, and God bless you.”

Ananya’s best friend Sania Mirza also lends her support during this emotionally stressful time. Sania Mirza’s comment read, “Love you so much.” They are known in the media for their true, without-filter friendship. Both Birla and Mirza were also in Hello Magazine as Friendship Goals. Apart from celebrities, fans were also devastated to receive the news. A fan said, “Please don’t go from music ….. I’m very inspired by you & by your circle song.” Another comment read, “When your passion feels exhausting, its understandable; a break at the v least is 1000% valid.” “You can actually think of leaving music, but trust me, music will never leave you. It is you. Hope you come out stronger from the situation. More power to you, Ananya,” wrote a person under Ananya’s post.

Ananya debuted in the industry with her first single ‘Livin’ the Life’ in 2016. Since then, she released a couple of singles and the last one was ‘Better’ in 2019. Recently the artist was a part of the soundtrack for the film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ along with Lucky Ali and Armaan Malik. The film stars VidyaBalan, Pratik Gandhi, IlleanaD’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, and hit the theaters in April.
