Immensely talented pop singer and songwriter OBKaos unveiled his much-waited electrified music video ‘Mad Max’ under the label Coolio Productions, the gigantic rapper stopped by to talk all things inspiration, passion, influence, and creativity. Here’s how it went –
DMR. It is a pleasure to get a chance to chat with you OBKaos and congratulations on the superb new music project. For those new to your work, where are you based, and what first inspired you to create original music?
OBKaos. First and foremost I wanna say a big thank you and love to all of supporters it’s been an amazing first year and we as a collective are just getting started , we are emerging out of west London , to our west Londoner’s stand up !
And I can honestly say my surrounding inspired me to make the music I make today growing up I could say I have been through a lot of battles which molded me into the man I am today , as an artist I am Very versatile as I can range from melodic to real rap , honestly it’s just depends the vibe and mood in the studio.
DMR. What does your latest music project ‘Mad Max’ represent, and what’s your biggest ambition in terms of where you hope to hear the music or where you imagine performing it?
OBKaos. Mad max is a representation of our everyday struggles where come from , we got the idea mad max from the original movie as max is depicted in a post apocalyptic world trying to survive everyday life. We see how he goes through different challenges but yet still comes out alive and ontop no matter the situation. That is mad max for me , just describing how sometimes we go through things in life but we still come out on top like mad max.
DMR. Creative artist, rapper, and performer, have your influences changed over time or do you still listen to the same artists and albums that always connected with you?
OBKaos. I would say as an artist you always have to tap into new sounds and get into your creative mode you never know when a new sound could be made 
and I always stay true to myself as a rapper artist and performer , ME OBK I am known to bring the energy and vibes at performances I feel like that for me is one of the most main aspects of being an artist. Your fans and supporters need to connect with your music on a real personal level and what a way to do that by performing.
DMR. ‘Mad Max’ is brilliant, fascinating, a captivating listen with a storytelling core and organic clarity and groove that is refreshing. Share the creative process what came first and what inspired you to explore this concept?
OBKaos. Honestly it was the Chorus that came first ahaha , there was so much energy and vibe the process was so easy especially when you have other heads contributing towards your art it makes it official uno.Especially with the beat it’s the best that mostly draws out the whole process but in some cases it’s the other way round , the lyrics ( bars) will come first and then the beat lay down and what inspired me to explore this content is that it’s the real life I’m living uno my music is my art from within all my emotions my expressions being repressed into a song, so everything I rap about i truly stand tall on.
DMR. Is this kind of poetic, observational songwriting typical of your fashion as an artist?
OBKaos. Yeah you could say that lol I love to make our songs rhymes and still be able to get our message through and make a banging song.
DMR. How impactful is a collaboration with Big Rinse and Bori and networking for you as a musician, and how do you choose the right artists to work with?
OBKaos. It was very impactful as Big rinse And BORI are truly defined artists honestly we are the best in The game HANDSDOWN , I really feel like rinse and Boris verse made a mad impact on the song as they came with a different flow and rhyme schemes altogether we all went hard
DMR. Will there be any videos or live performance videos to accompany the releases?
OBKaos. Yes this year 2024 Coolio productions have got some very exciting things coming up trust me you guys know we always do it big
DMR. Your repertoire is quite extensive, what was the first track you ever made, and how much has changed about your approach since then?
OBKaos. I honestly can’t remember this first one made but I remember the first one I shot , it was called fleeky I used to be in a duo group with my cousin called YB & YG 6 under my brothers ( big rinse) Management.
P.s I was only 11 years old. But that song was more Of a Afro melodic vibe compared to what we have released now I can just say it’s maturity that has changed aha compare my eleven year old Lyrics To now lol.
DMR. The music project is gentle, dreamy, and authentic for the most part – are you a music composer, multi-instrumentalist, or purely a proficient songwriter and singer?
OBKaos. Yes I am all of those I would say as I do care to choose my beats carefully as I want a sound that stands out from the rest and again I provide dope lyrics in a vibey manner to suit the song.
DMR. How would you describe the style of your music to people who have not yet heard it?
OBKaos. Honestly the music we make as a whole comes from the soul as a creative as I mentioned earlier we are very versatile so we have various genres of music ,everybody be can relate to and at the same time our music is real so when they hear it they know yh we really tryna make it out in other words turn our negatives into positives 
DMR. What is your biggest ambition? Does your creativity manifest in any other ways?
OBKaos. Ahaha the sky is the limit for me because I know all the work and art I’m pushing out for the world to hear and feel will definitely make and impact on My generation and family at the same time it’s all coming from within so we have to keep on pushing and praying and achieving
