Drillani

DMR: Your artist name

Ans: Drillani

DMR: What kind of music genre do you represent?

Ans: I identify as an underground Hip Hop and R&B artist with high aspirations of making my presence felt within the music industry.

DMR: Which artists inspire you’re the most?

Ans: My greatest musical inspirations are PlayboiCarti and Lil Uzi Vert. These two artists have been pivotal in the development of my own sound and musical style. Even prior to my first experience recording in the studio, I have always been infatuated with their musical cadence and fashion style.

DMR: Where do you originally hail from and where are you based now?

Ans: I am a native of Montgomery County Maryland, but take pride in being a Colombian. I am currently pursuing my musical dreams within the DMV area and have been focused on performing in local shows.

DMR: What influences got you into making music professionally?

Ans: It all started when a close friend of mine by the name of Kashkayy showed me his music and from there he inspired me to get into music production. After quickly developing a love for music, I decided to move on from music production and pursue a career as an artist. The rest is history.

DMR: How would you describe your soundscape, music, and arrangement styles?

Ans: It is difficult to put my music into one category because I have more than one type of sound. From bouncy, up-tempo, high energy tracks that draw influence from Lil Uzi Vert and PlayboiCarti to heavily bass boosted, darker tracks that draw influence from local DMV artists such as No Savage, my mission is to provide a variety of sounds that cater to a wide audience of listeners.

DMR: Do music videos hold any importance in the creative enhancement of music?

Ans: I am a strong advocate for music videos because it is an important aspect of the creative element of music. Music is an art dependent on individual creativity to expand the mind of the listener. Music videos do an excellent job at painting a picture of the message the music is trying to convey.

DMR: Do you have any upcoming plans for new content?

Ans: My current plans include continuing the local concerts I am putting together with my management team at Kizzapp Records to shine more light upon the underground music scene within the DMV. In addition, I am preparing for my next big project while continuing to grow and connect with my devoted audience who support me.

DMR: Do you have any notes or suggestions to give to an upcoming lot of musicians?

Ans: I suggest spending months to a couple of years to develop your sound and cadence. Just like any task, practice makes perfect and music follows the same principle. Talent can take you far, but hard work and dedication will separate you from the pack of other artists chasing the spotlight.
