Groove to the Lyrical Melody and Rhythmic Energy of Hip Hop Artist Bandanna’s New Song ‘Insomnia’

BANDANNA

Hip hop and rap artist Bandanna creates a musical and creative legacy with the contemporary dynamics of the genre in his newly released song, ‘Insomnia’. The song is a transcending course of thematic strains that beautifully merges with the creative proximities of lyrical hip hop paving the way for a unique and eccentric musical style.

1. How important is thematic relevance in your music?

Ans: It’s important because there was a time when I couldn’t stay on one subject. So I take pride in the way I’ve grown in my writing and I’m now able to be creative but stay with one theme.

2. What role does the cultural roots or upbringing of an artist play in his or her soundscape?

Ans: An artist’s upbringing is the essence of his/her music, or at least it should be. Being honest in a song is therapeutic and songs that are honed are usually successful.

3. What inspires you the most as a musician?

Ans: The fact that I come from a musical family. and I love the feeling I get when I’m feeling a track then I catch a vibe to it and I like how I sound on it. It’s a special feeling.

4. How do you incorporate multiple influences into one blended, continuous course?

Ans: I’m not gonna lie, Migos changed the game with their flow. I switch up my flow 2 or 3 times in one song and I like to go to the Migos flow with a west coast influence.

5. What relevance does your personality hold in your music?

Ans: My music is a reflection of what I’m like in real life. My music is true experience that have molded my personality. From the street culture to good and bad situations with females.

6. Is live performance an instrumental step in an artist’s development?

Ans: Performing live is definitely earning your stripes. And only good things can come from it.

7. Who are your favorite contemporary artists?

Ans: I’ve always been a ‘Rakim’ & ‘Nas’ fan and I will be vibing to ‘Problem’. ‘Drake’ is a vibe. I’m a big ‘Wayne’ fan. Most of the people don’t like ‘Wayne’ its cuz they don’t get what he be saying. But, ‘2 Chainz’, ‘G Eazy’, ‘Nip’, Everlast, Nirvana.

8. Do you think that making music in the lines of a hybrid genre can potentially garner more audience?

Ans: Absolutely.

9. How important are music videos?

Ans: Videos are important so the fan can connect an image with the song. And it gives the artist an opportunity to relay what he was visioning when he/she wrote the song.

10. What does the future look for hip hop and rap?

Ans: I think rap is gonna Coe full circle, back to dope punchlines, not as much singing, and what they call “mumble rap”. I think songs that focus on one subject as we discussed earlier, with dope lyrics and punchlines, metaphors, flow, and delivery will come back into style and receive the recognition it deserves and once had.

11. Do emotions play an important role in your lyrical structures?

Ans: Absolutely.

12. Any advice for upcoming musicians?

Ans: Anything worth having doesn’t happen overnight. It can be hard to fall in love with the Prahce55. Keep yo head down and grind and when you look up see how far you’ve come and all you have accomplished.
