You have always had a special something when it came to singing Punjabi songs in Bollywood. What about these songs do you love the most?

I think I’m in love with Punjabi music, Punjabi language, Punjabi food, and Punjabi people. I have a special love for Punjab and I feel connected, I feel I relate to it.

What do you feel makes Punjabi songs so huge these days?

I think it’s not that only Punjabi songs are huge, various kinds of songs are very big and huge in business. Punjabi is something I relate to and most of us on the globe relate to this language, this kind of singing.

Now that things have opened up and the pandemic is over, what do you feel is the need of the hour?

Is the pandemic over really? I don’t know. But I think the need of the hour is to still stay safe and still keep doing what we are asked to do. Take care of our health. It was a reality check. It has made so many people realize the importance of life, health, and wellbeing.

How has life changed post the pandemic?

Life during the pandemic and post-pandemic has really taught me a lot of things. I understood a lot of things. There was self-realization, and I realized that nothing matters as long as you’re happy and you’re at peace with yourself.

Tell us about the live shows and performances you have done post-pandemic.

Post pandemic, it was really weird at first for me to perform. Sometimes, I also thought ‘do I belong here?’. But gradually, I realized how much my mind, body, and soul wanted it.
