The 2023 CMT Music Awards was a bang-on hit with exceptional presentation and impressive voting results. When they came back this year the anticipation around this was building, and the award ceremony was held at Austin’s Moody Center, Texas. CBS aired the program live and streaming platform Paramount+ also broadcasted the program live on 2nd April 2023. The 57th edition of the annual award ceremony was airing live from 7 pm. Right after the red carpet segment around 8 pm, the ceremony initiated.
Apart from these aforesaid platforms fans could also see the award function on various other platforms afterward. Platforms like YouTube TV, FuboTV, DIRECTV STREAM, and Hulu + Live TV might not have live telecasted the program, but now the complete video of the award ceremony is available.
Brown and Kelsea Ballerini co-hosted the award function and Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and many others performed at the event which made the entire award night more engaging. Lainey Wilson received 4 nominations for the night and this maximum number of nominations that an artist got this year. Yet, Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, and Cody Johnson were just right behind Wilson with 3 nominations each.
Great news for Jelly Roll fans, as he was victorious in all the categories he was nominated for. Before heading to the ceremony Shania Twain was announced as the recipient of the CMT Equal Pay Award. The special award celebrates artists and celebrities who advocate for “elevating diverse and underrepresented voices in country music.” According to CMTs, she is the third person who is worthy of this award and this honor.
Previously, Jennifer Nettles and Linda Martell won this award. This year, Megan Thee Stallion presented the award to Twain. Apart from Megan Thee Stallion, HARDY, Noah Schnapp, Travis Kelce and others were the award presenters for the night.
