The Roling Stone would be returning to their audience with a new album, ‘Hackney Diamonds’. The launch event occurred at Hackney Empire in London, Britain, on September 6, 2023. The band said that they are launching a completely new set of songs almost after 18 years. The album is set to launch on the 20th of October.

The album’s name is inspired by all the broken glasses often seen on the streets of east London’s Hackney area. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood, the original three members of Rolling Stone, were present at the Hackney Empire, a historic theater, to announce their upcoming album.

The Rolling Stones are still traveling the world performing in live concerts. But they haven’t made an album since 2016. And their last release didn’t have any new tracks or material. And this is why this announcement is getting a lot of attractions.

The 79-year-old Rolling Stone member, Richardssaid the band was compelled to make a new album because Jagger, another Rolling Stone Member, wanted to sing. So,they all went along after almost 20 years and started recording new numbers for this album. Richards said,“When you have a singer that wants to sing,” continuing, “you grab him and throw him in the studio.” Richards said the songs came together with “energy and urgency.”

The driving reason behind this album, the 80-year-old Jagger, said, “We are quite pleased,” how the new album has come out. He also mentioned that the group would not have put a recording together unless “we hadn’t really liked it. We said we had to make a record we really love ourselves … we hope you all like it.”

This week they dropped the first single ‘Angry’ from their upcoming album. But Jagger also punned, the upcoming tracks of this album are going to be “Not Angry”. He mentioned the album offers, “love songs, ballads, country…” music and vibes. This new recording includes several feature artists. Legendary artists like Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, and Charlie Watts. Watts the Rolling Stone drummer died in 2021. For this album, Steve Jordan has done courtesy of drumming with the band.

Regarding WattsRichards said, “Of course, he’s missed incredibly,” But Jordan has been formerly suggested by Watts himself. The 76-year-old Band Member, Wood, the guitarist of the trio said about the retirement of the band, “Impossible. You’ve got to keep playing.”
