Actress Tilly Norwood has been drawing attention across Hollywood, though there is one detail that makes her different from every other rising star. The artificial intelligence character, created by the England based company Particle6, first stirred debate in film circles. Now the digital performer has stepped into music with a new single and video titled ‘Take The Lead’. The release continues to spark conversation about the growing role of AI in entertainment.

The song leans directly into the discussion surrounding technology and creativity. Its lyrics push the idea that artificial intelligence grows from human imagination and effort. The central line captures that message clearly with the phrase “AI’s not the enemy, it’s the key.” The track also opens with a verse that reflects on the human presence behind the code. “When they talk about me, they don’t see the human spark, the creativity, behind the code, behind the light, I’m just a tool, but I’ve got life,” the opening lyrics read. “I didn’t come from nowhere, no, A story’s always told, you know, It’s not a glitch, it’s taste and time, A human touch, a grand design.”

Right at the beginning of the video a disclaimer reminds viewers that real people helped bring the project to life. It states that “the following production was made by 18 real humans – from production designers to costume designers to prompters, editors and an actor.” The description attached to the video even jokes about a possible appearance at the 2026 Academy Awards on Sunday, March 15. “Can’t wait to go to the Oscars! Does anyone know if they have free valet parking for my flamingo?”

On social media, Norwood describes herself as the “World’s first AI Actress,” and the character’s Instagram account has already gathered more than 115000 followers. The page originally presented her as a newcomer chasing roles in Hollywood, complete with staged screen tests and still images from fictional projects. One post from July 30 highlighted what was called her “first ever role,” a part in “AI Comissioner,” a short comedy sketch created entirely with AI tools. The reaction from parts of the entertainment industry has been sharp. Members of the SAG AFTRA union quickly criticized the project, arguing that AI characters risk replacing working performers. In response to the backlash, Particle6 founder Eline Van Der Velden defended the creation publicly.

“To those who have expressed anger over the creation of our AI character Tilly Norwood: she is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work — a piece of art,” Van Der Velden wrote in her own statement on Instagram on Sept. 27. “Like many forms of art before her, she sparks conversation, and that in itself shows the power of creativity.”

SAG AFTRA responded with a firm stance of its own. “To be clear, ‘Tilly Norwood’ is not an actor, it’s a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers — without permission or compensation,” the union said in a Sept. 30 statement.
