Billie Eilish shared big news on Instagram on the final night of her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour in San Francisco. She is releasing a 3D concert documentary based on her tour. It will arrive in theaters on 20th March, 2026. The film is coming through Paramount Pictures. It is also a joint effort with Darkroom Records, Interscope Films, and Lightsroom Entertainment. Billie is not only starring in the film as the main artist, but she is also co-directing the project with legendary filmmaker James Cameron. This makes this release feel even more intimate and raw.

Back in July, Billie Eilish teased her fans during a stop in Manchester. She shared that she was working on something very special; however, it would take some time and patience. She said it was a project that asked her to repeat the same outfit on stage for many shows. She mentioned that she was building it with filmmaker James Cameron, known for his celebrated Titanic and Avatar movies, and the crowd went absolutely wild. The moment felt like a super secret she was finally ready to let slip. It hinted at something big, something that is built with proper care and artistry. Now it is clear that she meant this new concert film.

“Basically, I can’t say much about it, but what I can say is that I’m working on something very, very special with somebody named James Cameron and it’s going to be in 3D. So, take that as you will and these four shows here in Manchester, you and me are part of a thing that I am making with him. He’s in this audience somewhere, just saying. So don’t mind that, and also I’ll probably be wearing this exact outfit for like four days in a row,” Billie told the crowd in Manchester that night.
About a year ago, James Cameron’s company Lightstorm shared that it was teaming up with Meta to create more 3D content featuring major artists and live events for Meta Quest headsets. It felt like a push toward a new way to experience concerts and films. Billie Eilish already has a history in this space. She released the 2021 documentary Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry and later the concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.
