Billie Eilish keeps moving into new spaces, and it feels natural for her at this point. She has broken records that most artists only dream about, and she keeps adding more without slowing down. The trailer for ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour’ shows her leaning into a new vision with James Cameron. Their film reaches past the usual tour story and aims for something larger, something that pulls you into her world instead of keeping you at a distance. It opens in theaters on March 20, and it feels like the start of a new chapter for her!

The three-minute preview that dropped Wednesday morning opens with a thrilled Billie Eilish, 23, gazing down at fans who’d camped out overnight to be first in line. “This is so crazy,” she says, smiling as she snaps a photo of the devoted crowd. Suddenly, one fan spots her, and Eilish bangs on the window, setting off a wave of screams from the groggy early-risers as they rush across the parking lot to catch a glimpse. From the open window, she yells, “LOVE YOUUUUUUU!!!” The moment captures her playful energy and the pure excitement that comes from connecting with fans in these rare and electric pre-show encounters.

The 106-show 2024-2025 tour for Billie Eilish’s third album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ began on 29th September, 2024, in Quebec City and traveled through sold-out arenas and stadiums across North America, Oceania, Europe, and Asia, before returning to North America and wrapping on 23rd November at San Francisco’s Chase Center. The trailer showcases striking visuals, from the massive gleaming white cube at the center of the stage to the pyrotechnics and effects that made each show unforgettable. Even Eilish seems a little awed by having box office legend James Cameron there to capture the entire experience, adding extra weight to the tour film.

“That’s James Cameron,” Eilish says, watching the legendary director whose films have grossed over $8.7 billion work with her during rehearsals. “No one’s shot a concert film on this scale before,” Cameron adds, his passion for creating the biggest, most ambitious, and most innovative experiences clearly driving every frame.

In the preview, Eilish grabs a mini-cam to capture audience moments and rockets out of a stage trapdoor. Then she grins as she promises, “it’s gonna be loud,” showing off the scrapes on her hands from getting up close with fans during shows. The trailer pulses with energy and chaos, but halfway through it softens as she breaks down reading a heartfelt note from her older brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, who skipped the tour to focus on solo work. “Almost 7 years ago to the day we started your first headlining tour of North America,” it reads. “It’s been the joy of my life to travel the world with you three times over and watch you hold every person who comes to your shows in the palm of your hand. Good luck tonight, but you don’t need it; no one does it like you do. Can’t wait to see you soon.” The moment reveals the bond behind her stage persona.
