Popstar Billie Eilish is currently revolving at the center of everyone’s attention with a growing controversy that began after her Grammy Speech. The speech was politically inclined and a depiction of truth that needed to be told, considering the grand platform she could utilize. However, her daring speech after receiving the Grammy for Song of the Year sure made some people, especially the ICE supporters, angry.
Billie said, “There are no illegal people on stolen land,” and this anti-ICE comment was applauded by all the fellow artists in the grand ceremony, as it is true, considering the great American history. However, the speech created a backlash online as expected, and she is now at the center of controversy for her own property.
According to the report by the law firm, Billie’s mansion in Los Angeles sits on the ancestral land, which was previously owned by the indigenous people of the Tongva tribe. The mansion costs around 3 million USD, but that is not the point here in a city like Los Angeles, where many other celebrities have mansions that can cost even more. However, the LA law firm decided that only her property belongs to the stolen land and thus served an eviction notice to the artist.
The LA-based law firm also issued a statement that reads, “Sinai Law Firm is offering to evict Billie Eilish from her Los Angeles home on a pro bono basis on behalf of the Tongva Tribe. Sinai Law Firm is the premier eviction firm in the county”. Since Billie explained a part of American history, the firm believes that “Eilish’s admission that she lives on stolen land gives the tribe a rightful action for possession as the true owner of the property. The 30-day notice is already written and ready to be served.”
Now, the most entertaining fact is that this firm that works with the law claimed that the statement was made as a joke! Yes, this matter appears to be a joke to law firms in America, and they said, “Incredibly concerning to me that people in media are reaching to me as if this is a serious post.” While Billie is stating American history, people are willing to utilize it as a controversy since the net worth of this successful singer is around $50 million.
In Billie’s song ‘everything i wanted’, she said her brother will be there no matter what, and Finneas has proved that by defending her in the best way. He replied to the haters, “You can’t say it doesn’t matter what musicians or celebrities say or think but then talk about it for days. You’re out here making it matter. I’ll keep speaking up especially if it keep speaking up especially if it keeps bothering you.”
