Blake Shelton expressed his and fiancé Gwen Stefani’s excitement about their engagement in a recent Tweet

Famous musician duo Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are engaged and the later announced on Twitter on Tuesday that they are ‘Extremely excited’ about the event.

As a response to pastor Rick Warren’s message on Twitter that congratulated the couple on their engagement, Blake thanked him and expressed their excitement on their recent engagement.

Gwen also thanked pastor Warren for congratulating them and retweeted Blake’s tweet.

After dating for nearly 5 years, the 44-year-old country music star got engaged with the 51-year-old pop diva in Oklahoma. The couple has been practicing social distancing during the Covid-19 pandemic in Oklahoma since it began.

The couple shared the news of their engagement on social media on Tuesday with a photo of them kissing and Stefani holding up her left hand flaunting her engagement ring. Congratulatory messages flooded after the public announcement.

Stefani captioned the photo saying ‘yes please’ and Shelton captioned it writing ‘thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!’

The musicians fell in love on the set of The Voice 2015, where both of them acted as judges. The couple sand many duets such as the No. 1 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart ‘Nobody But You’ and ‘Happy Anywhere’ in early this year.

Their holiday songs ‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’ and ‘Go Ahead and Break My Heart’ from Blake’s 2016 album If I’m Honest were huge hits among their fans.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Blake revealed that a strong connection between them was created bonding over their individual divorces.

He said that their shared feelings over the bitter experience both of them faced in their respective marriage and divorce formed a powerful bond which is still very much present in their heart.

According to a source at PEOPLE magazine, Blake wants to ‘take his time with marriage, but he is absolutely committed to Gwen.’

The sourced told the magazine that both the musicians have seemingly found their true love in life and plans to stay together forever.
