The frontrunner of American Idol, season 19 Wyatt Pike was the first who have dropped out from the ongoing competition during the top 12 weeks for personal reasons. There are only two weeks left in the current season as Caleb Kennedy who is another fan favorite has also left the show.

Nevertheless, the reason behind the exit of Kennedy has got lesser mystery. The singer and songwriter are 16-years of age and he was able to wow all the judges with magnificent originals like ‘Nowhere’ and ‘Mama Said’. He also had an aspiration to be one of the legends who were instrumental in changing country music. But he lost the chance to win the American Idol title. All this happened as a video has been circulated where he is seen sitting next to a person who is wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood.

Reportedly, it is a Snapchat post and Kennedy was only 12 then and the video went viral on Tuesday, and DefNoodles, the talk show host and YouTube comedian who is the alter ego of Dennis Feitosa has tweeted this to 127,000 followers. Just the very next day, Kennedy took to social media and announced that he will leave the competition.

He tweeted that he will no longer be on the show and it was quite surprising. He also said that a video has surfaced and it should not be taken in that fashion. He further added that he is young but that should not be given as an excuse. He also said sorry to all his fans whom he has let down with this surprising decision. Furthermore, he also said that he is going to take time off from social media and try hard to better himself. He said that his decision to quit has disappointed many and most of them have lost respect for him. He also prayed for regaining their trust and earn the respect once again and thanked everybody for their support.

Anita Guy, who is the mother of the singer, came to the defense of Kennedy and spoke to media outlets in South Carolina, the home state of the family. She added that she hates the way Caleb has been portrayed by people on the internet and mentioned that he is not racist at all. He has got friends from every race and he also loves everybody.

The media outlet also reported that the edited version that is on Twitter does not have any background music and the word ‘bow’ is not mentioned anywhere.
