Camila Cabello Is Proving That Her Wins on the Voice Are More Than Just Beginner’s Luck

The reality TV singing competition ‘The Voice‘ has just started and already it is gathering exquisite talents and an interested audience from all over the world. The newest judge this season is the world famous pop singer Camila Cabello for whom the audience is glued to the TV.

On Monday night, the singer won over Andrew Igbokidi who is a 22-year-old medical student in the third round of the blind auditions. The contestant, Igbokidi has presented a beautifully haunting cover of ‘when the party’s over’ a ballad from another talented artist, Billie Eilish which has impressed the judges along with the audience. During the entire performance, the young talent received support from the audience which ended with a big and loud round of applause from them along with a standing ovation from the judges Cabello and Gwen Stefani. For the special performance, Igbokidi earned a four-chair turn which is extremely rare and impressive in the singing competition.

Being floored by the contestant’s efforts and beautiful performance, the rivalry between the judges began to include him in their teams. Cabello cut straight to the chase and told Igbokidi, the Nigerian American singer that she wanted and needed him on her team ‘badly’. Emphasizing the talent of the singer, Cabello made true efforts for the chance to coach her and gave a heart-touching reason on why the singer should pick her.

Similarly, due to earning the four-chair turn with the performance, fellow judges, Stefani, John Legend, and Blake Shelton, also gave enthusiastic pitches and tried to confirm the singer’s entry to their respective teams. Going over the blues, the interest and hunger for getting the contestant on their teams could be seen in their pitches.

However, Igbokidi picked Cabello as her words were convincing and relatable enough in order to impress the singer and get him to join her team, Cabello spoke to him on a different level and tried to make him feel connected to her by sharing her story when she also participated on a singing reality TV competition. “I feel vulnerable right now because I really, really believe in you,” said Cabello during her pitch along with saying she thinks she really can help the singer polish his performances and give the help that he needs”. Furthermore Cabello said to Igbokidi “it’s an environment where you could feel a lot of pressure, where there’s nerves.” which made him choose the pop star over the other three judges, leaving John Legend heartbroken.
