Chris Brown took home the most awards at this year’s Soul Train Awards

At the 2020 Soul Train Awards, Chris Brown won the most awards astonishing the fans. The award ceremony was aired on Sunday, November 29th, on BET. Brown bagged four of the twelve awards that were presented in the function. He won Best R&B/Soul Male Artist awards. His song ‘Go Crazy’ featuring Young Thug acquired three awards is year including the Song of the Year award. The track became a massive hit getting placed in the top 10 on Billboard Hot 100.

H.E.R bagged two awards this year for the song ‘I Can’t Breath’. She won Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and the Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award. The song has also a Grammy nomination under its belt for its social consciousness. She was the top nominee with eight nominations at this year’s Soul Train Awards. Chris Brown came second with seven nominations.

The Album of the Year went to Summer Walker’s debut album Over It that ruled at number 2 on the Billboard 200.

Meghan thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’ bagged the Rhythm & Bars Award at the ceremony. The song via a remix featuring Beyoncé placed number 1 on the Hot 100.

Beyoncé received the Video of the Year for the song ‘Brown Skin Girl’; she shared the award with Saint Jhn and Wikid as well as her daughter Blue Ivy. The video has also got a nomination for the Best Music Video at the Grammy.

The Swedish singer-songwriter Snoh Aalegra took home the Best New Artist. The talented musician is based in Los Angeles. Aalegra won the award for her 2019 sophomore album Ugh, Those Feels Again that was number 73 on Billboard 200.

Brandy and Monica’s renewed version of 1998 classic ‘The Boy Is Mine’ got each of them a reward. While Brandy got the Soul Train Certified Award, Monica won the Lady of Soul Award.
