Deryck Whibley Prepared an Acoustic Album of Sum 41 Tracks

The frontman of Sum 41, Deryck Whibley, has recently talked about an acoustic album of Sum 41 soundtracks. It is coming to see that the journey of the rock band has come to an end, but Whibley is not ready to leave it completely. During an interview, he said that ‘I’d like to do an acoustic tour of Sum 41 songs’. He even added, ‘I have an acoustic record that I recorded, and it is done, of Sum 41 songs. That may come out sometime soon. And I’d like to go tour that, but, again, there’s no plans for any of it’.

It is Whibley who has thought about the tour. There isn’t any update from the band officially on whether it is going to take place or not. The rock band, Sum 41 has last performed in a concert in January this year. After that, they were seen performing in March at the 2025 Juno Awards. Right after this, they were also inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. They are now going for disbandment after giving some of the biggest hits.

Whibley is an artist who isn’t ready for this disbanding. This phase is really hard for the artist. He has stated, ‘I play guitar every day. I have no plans or I don’t know what I’m gonna do with music, but I play guitar every day, I write music every day and I have a stockpile of songs and music that are just kind of sitting there that eventually I’m gonna wanna do some music. I don’t know when that is, but, yeah. I’m sure I’ll do something again with music, eventually’.

When the artist was asked about the release of the material, he stated ‘I think a lot of the stuff that I’m working on right now, I like for myself. I’m a very selfish writer. When I write something I like, it’s hard to give it away. I can work with somebody and create something from scratch, but if I’ve finished a song, that’s pretty hard to give away’.

Deryck Whibley came up with a memoir in 2024, named ‘Walking Disaster: My Life Through Heaven And Hell’. It is quite a unique music creation that helped him garner a larger number of listeners. This has become a bestseller just because of how he has portrayed it. This memoir is a journey of his rise to fame. He has talked about several struggles. And that is why the raw emotions have been reflected in his storytelling as well. This creation is an excellent blend of struggles, resilience, and healing.
