English pop star and global icon Ed Sheeran is embarking on the next chapter of his recording career under a new label. With official reports confirming the fact, Ed is set to sign with Interscope Records for a long-term record deal after his 15-year tenure with Warner Music Group comes to an end.
This is a major transition for the global superstar as he will be on the roster for Universal Music Group instead of Warner, which offered the initial support to his music career. While working under Warner, Sheeran dropped a total of eight studio albums, and each of them seemed to be a successful one. It goes without saying that the label helped the British singer-songwriter establish himself as one of the best-selling global pos artist in the last decade. Unfortunately, the deal ended earlier this year.

Ed Sheeran signed with the Asylum and Atlantic labels by Warner in 2011 in the UK. Since then, he has been dropping smash hit album projects, namely ‘+ (Plus)’,’ x (Multiply)’, ‘÷ (Divide)’, ‘= (Equals)’, and ‘− (Subtract),’, which is known as a mathematical series. Similarly, ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ and ‘Autumn’ have also gained a significant amount of attention from the global fans. There are many globally hit singles that are still gathering online streams, such as “Shape of You”, “Perfect”, “Thinking Out Loud”, “The A Team”, and the list goes on.

The recent album project ‘Play’ is considered the first collection from an ongoing album series. Although this album did not achieve any significant commercial success, it shows transition and maturity in the artist’s creations. The album reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and showcased how the artist is capable of unfolding each chapter in his life through music.
Previously, Ed took a moment to announce his departure from Warner Music in May and shared that it was not a dispute but a healthy and professional decision to move on. The artist said, “This isn’t a ‘disgruntled artist leaves record label’ type situation,” and further added, “This is a boy who started as a teenager on the company with different priorities, to the father of 2 man who exists now, who feels like he needs a shift and change in the way he does things professionally.”
Similarly, Warner Music also wished him luck, saying, “Everyone in the Warner Music family wishes Ed the very best as he embarks on the next chapter of his extraordinary artistic journey.”
