There is amazing news for music lovers all over the world. Renowned musicians like, Paul Simons, Bruce Springsteen, and Jennifer Hudson will be coming together on stage at the upcoming Central Park Homecoming Concert. The event will be held soon in August at the Great Lawn of the New York City Park.

Covid-19 had brought a standstill on all musical programs all over the world. The weeklong celebration will be a refreshing comeback for the New York City as the situation in the country gets better than before. The mega-concert will have legendary music producer Clive Davis as the booker and it will be a centerpiece in the city. Davis said that they hope to have a total of 60,000 audiences on the show.

The mayor of New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio held a press conference on Thursday about the concert. He said in the statement that the event will prove to be one of the greatest Central Park concerts in history. He further added the concert will remain in the minds of the people for the ages.

The mayor, de Blasio still has not declared the actual dates of the Homecoming Concert to the press. As per the reports of the New York Times, he had previously decided to hold the event on August 21st. The dates of the show clash with one of the openings of the Springsteen on Broadway show that opens on June 26th and will run till September 4th this year. The report also said that Patti Smith and Springsteen will also be performing together at the concert in Central Park.

The mayor had something to say about Springsteen. He said that Springsteen is extremely popular in New York though he comes from New Jersey. He is very much loved in the city despite being from New Jersey, he joked.

Simon stopped touring in 2018. He had mentioned before that he is interested in returning to do stage shows for special reasons and charitable causes. The concert at Central Park has no doubt a special occasion. Simon performed with Art Garfunkel in Central Park in the September of 1982. It was a free benefit show and was one of the greatest shows in history. The show was witnessed by half-million fans.

The list of the performers and the dates will be released in the coming weeks.
