The most awaited night of the music video industry is coming soon. Music admirers around the world are bracing themselves for the night of 28th August 2022.

The MTV Video Awards, known as “music’s wildest night,” are coming up in a matter of days.

The 38th VMAs are approaching, and we have compiled all the information you need to know before watching, including who will be performing, where the event will be held, and more. Continue reading for a comprehensive guide to the 2022 VMAs.

The VMAs will be broadcast live on Sunday, August 28 at 8 pm ET/PT from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, where they are being hosted this year.

Naturally, MTV, the VMAs’ home network, will broadcast them. This year, a lot of other additional Paramount/Viacom/CBS networks are also airing it simultaneously, including The CW, MTV2, TVLand, and many more. Although the 2021 VMAs did, MTV hasn’t made any mention of the show streaming on Paramount+.

The host of the program has yet to be announced by MTV, and there may not be one. In fact, the VMAs have been without a host multiple times over the years, most recently in 2018.

With seven nominations each, Kendrick Lamar, Lil Nas X, and Jack Harlow are in the lead this year. With six nods each, Doja Cat, the host from the previous year, and Harry Styles are not far behind, Five nominations were given to Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and the Weeknd.

Doja Cat for “Women,” Drake ft. Future & Young Thug for “Way 2 Sexy,” Ed Sheeran for “Shivers,” Harry Styles for “As It Was,” Olivia Rodrigo for “brutal,” and Taylor Swift for “All Too Well (Taylor’s version)” will compete for the night’s top honor, “Video of the Year.”

Lizzo, BLACKPINK, Jack Harlow, J Balvin, Mneskin, Panic! at the Disco, Marshmellow x Khalid, and Kane Brown, the first male country artist to perform at the VMAs, are just a few of the high-profile acts scheduled to perform at this year’s awards show.

Nicki Minaj, who is also doing a performance and receiving the prestigious Vanguard award for her work in the music industry, will also be recognized.
