The worldwide hip-hop music industry is grieved by the news of popular rapper Trouble’s death. He was shot dead at only 34 in Atlanta after a performance.

Renowned American rapper Trouble, also known as Mariel Semonte Orr, died at the age of only 34. The news was confirmed over the weekend as it was shared on an Instagram post by Def Jam on June 5th.

Def Jam Recordings gave their homage to the artist who was known by the name Skoob as well on their Instagram post. The caption read, ‘A true voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented. RIP Skoob.’

As per the reports of the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, the artist was shot on June 5th, Sunday around 3:20 am in the suburb of Conyers in Atlanta. He received one shot in the chest and was declared dead on the spot. He had given a performance just a few hours before he was shot.

The police have not arrested anyone till now but they have acquired a warrant to arrest a 33-year-old suspect named Jamichael Jones for the charge of murder. As per the investigators, the suspect and the rapper did not know one another but they had been engaged in what they called a ‘domestic situation’ over Trouble’s female friend whom he went for a visit at an apartment complex.

 

Just a day before he was shot dead, Trouble posted on his official Twitter account that he has to pass through his own hometown with caution. He Tweeted, ‘Its toooooooo many 12 of for me tonight IM GOIN HOME!!” he tweeted. “Yall move smoove outchea.’

Orr was born and bred in Atlanta and has been involved with rapping from his tee years. He called Tupac and DMX his biggest influences. He was eventually signed by Atlanta rapper Big Bank Black to Duct Tape Entertainment. Under the record label, he released most of his creations.

Throughout his career, he collaborated with major artists like The Weeknd, Quavo, Young Thug, Drake, Gucci Mane, and many more. He released his latest studio album, ‘Thug Luv’ in 2020.

Renowned musicians like T.I., Gucci Mane, MeekMill, Juicy J, Lil duval, and more have expressed grief over his death. The fans have also flooded the comment section of Def Jam Recordings’ post by paying their tribute to the late artist.
