Rock band, Foo Fighters invited comedian Dave Chappelle on stage for a cover version of one of Radiohead’s most iconic songs, ‘Creep’ during a concert at Madison Square Garden, New York City. It was a surprise for the audience as well as it saw one of the most memorable live collaborations.

The event took place on June 20. During the performance, Chappelle was being supported by the entire band while Dave Grohl played the guitar. Previously, Chappelle has tried his hands at musical performances many times as well including the one with artist Ed Sheeran.

Band Foo Fighters came out with their latest album, Medicine at Midnight in February. The album received 4 stars from NME upon release and called it “an injection of joy from Grohl and the gang”.

The band’s show at Madison Square Garden marked the venue’s first full-capacity event since the beginning of the pandemic. All attendees were required to prove they had been vaccinated. This lead to anti-vaxxers criticizing the band. They also received similar criticism during their comeback gig which took place in California.

Just last week, the band announced an upcoming disco album called The Dee Gees. The record, ‘Hail Satin’, will be released for the second Record Store Day drop on July 17 and contain four covers by the Bee Gees, a rendition of ‘Shadow Dancing’ by Andy Gibb, and five live versions of ‘Medicine At Midnight’ songs.

Also earlier this month, comedian Dave Chappelle announced that his 2020 comedy special, 8:46 would also be released through vinyl in partnership with Third Man which is musician Jack White’s label.

Chappelle was also the host of the particular Saturday Night Live episode where Foo Fighters were the musical guests. The comedian screened his new documentary, This Time This Place at the Radio City Music Hall. It featured appearances from many rappers including De La Soul, Ghostface, Q-Tip, and more.
