Lady Gaga has lined up a special Christmas gift for her Little Monsters, announcing the release of her concert film ‘Lady Gaga in Harlequin Live: One Night Only’ on Christmas Eve. The reveal comes more than a year after the soundtrack album first made its way to listeners, making the moment feel like a full-circle return. Sharing the news on Instagram, Gaga kept it warm and personal, writing, “Happy holidays to you and yours.” She later added, “Happy holidays to you and yours 🎄🛟🎁 ‘Lady Gaga in Harlequin Live: One Night Only’ Coming Xmas Eve @ 4pm PT on my YouTube channel.”
The concert film will premiere on YouTube on 24th December at 4:00 PM PT. For fans in India, the release arrives early on 25th December at 5:30 AM, making Christmas morning a front-row experience. According to ABC News, the film was recorded on 30th September, 2024, at the Belasco Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. Gaga performed the intimate show for a small group of fans, capturing a rare and personal night that is now being shared with the world.
According to ABC News, via a press release, the concert film sees Lady Gaga perform her Harlequin album in full. The 2024 release draws from her work on ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ with Joaquin Phoenix. It blends classic Great American Songbook standards with her own expressive touch, including Frank Sinatra’s ‘That’s Life’, ‘I’ve Got The World on a String’, and Judy Garland’s ‘Get Happy’. During a Q&A about the upcoming film, Lady Gaga was asked why Harlequin is arriving on Christmas Eve. “I’m feeling like: Why not?” she replied, as reported by Variety. “We have this thing that’s so special to us, so we’re just really happy to share it with the fans,” Gaga commented while she called Harlequin a “rebellious project”. “And, by Harlequin standards, Christmas is the perfect time to release something rebellious.”

According to ABC News, citing a press release for Harlequin Live – One Night Only, Lady Gaga describes the album as a “singular love letter from Gaga to music lovers around the world – drawing from the American jazz canon while weaving in modern and pop sensibilities through fresh arrangements.” The project reflects a deeper creative turn, rooted in respect for classic jazz while allowing her own voice to shape every moment. For Gaga, the release carries personal meaning beyond the stage. She has shared that the album offers fans a clearer look at who she hopes to grow into as a jazz musician. “This will not be my last jazz record. So it’s just exciting to keep going,” she said during a Q&A at the Grammy Museum, according to Variety. Her connection to music feels endless and restless. “And I do feel no matter where music takes me, it’s the one thing that’s pretty insatiable in me – it will never be enough,” she added. “Because even when I’m in my nineties, I will never have gone through every genre and figured it all out.”
