Multi-Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren is found to be working with everybody’s favorite Halle Bailey, who is also a singer-songwriter and actress. They have teamed up for a fresh, new original song for the soundtrack of the upcoming animated film “The Crystal Planet.”

Diane Warren is one of the most talented songwriters in the industry, who received her 17th Academy Award nomination and also won an Honorary Oscar in 2022. “Somewhere We All Belong” is written by her, and the song will be performed by Halle. It is being said that the song embodies the theme of the movie and shares its identity with a true sense of empathy. According to the director of the movie, Arsen Anton Ostojic, the song “captures the emotional heart” of the film, and it beautifully explains the underlying message of this sci-fi animated adventure.
The story for “The Crystal Planet” includes the central character Rea, who is 11 years old, and she moves to a distant space colony along with her father. She finds a new friend in this new habitat, and that mysterious cub seems to be the point of interest for everyone. Rea gets desperate to save the cub from all kinds of brutal industrialists who are trying to turn the creature into a robotic prototype.

This film is based on an original screenplay by late Dušan Vukotić, who is also the first ever non-American person to win an Academy Award in the category of animation. The voice cast for “The Crystal Planet” includes Michael York, Jeremy Irons, and Vanessa Redgrave, and they have all done a great job.
The production for this upcoming film is handled by Filmosaurus Rex, Alkay Animation Prague, and BFilm. Jakub Pištecký was assigned to the point of supervision, and this unique project is supported by several European film bodies. Some of the major names in the list are Czech Audiovisual Fund, Slovak Audiovisual Fund, Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Czech Television, Creative Europe/MEDIA, and Croatian Television.
This EU animated film is creating a lot of anticipation since European animation has set its benchmark all over the world. Previously, ‘Flow’ won the Oscar as the best animated film, which is an original work from Latvia. Similarly, Paris and France-based animation company, Fortiche Production, made a huge impact with their work in ‘Arcane’ and brought a brand new style of animation that is followed by others.
