The international music festival Lollapalooza has come to India for the first time this year and the craze for tickets was at an all-time high. The music festival happened over a weekend, and two days and the number of attendees was around 60,000. Probably the most beautiful moment of the festival was on Saturday when the band Imagine Dragons performed and went through an emotional moment. While singing on the stage surrounded by thousands of fans, the teary-eyed Dan Reynolds, the lead singer of the band Imagine Dragons said that the love from Indian fans moved him and they will be back again.

This was not just the first Lollapalooza festival in India, but also the biggest multi-genre music festival in Asia which was attended by Indians of all age groups and genders. The festival’s biggest priority is to make the ground safe and secure for the attendees and the success of the show with a full crowd shows that it became reality. For the entire weekend, security and staff stationed across the venue were professionally trained in crowd management, discriminatory harassment, and sexual harassment prevention. The venue also had gender-neutral restrooms and was completely equipped with clearly visible sign stops. It did not stop there as the art installations along with large food parks, even a Ferris wheel. This made the attendees enjoy the live music to the fullest without worrying about their safety.

Held at 50-acre Mahalakshmi Racecourse grounds, the festival is in talks to come back to the country. After the successful wrap-up of two days, the festival producers and the promoter, BookMyShow said that the multi-genre music festival will make its comeback in India in 2024. Given the number of international and national artists rocking live on stage for over 60,000 people, it can only be anticipated that the next time it will be even bigger.
