American rapper Kanye West just got banned from entering Australia after his recent music release, where the subject matter is based on Hitler. Australian Home Affairs Minister, Tony Burke, has already confirmed the fact that Kanye is revoked from the country for referring to ‘Heil Hitler’ in his song.

The amazing fact is that the song about the Nazi leader was released on the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the Nazis in Germany through Second World War, in May. During a recent interview, Tony Burke shared this news of the revocation after he was asked about the visa cancellation of an Israeli-American advocate who shared “Islamophobia is rational”.

He said, “Most of the visas that have been cancelled under this section have been where someone was seeking to make a public speech,” and he seems to be strictly against the hatred. He said,  “The only one I can think of where it wasn’t for public advocacy – the visa – but we cancelled it anyway, would be Kanye West.”

Burke further shared the fact that Kanye West’s current partner, Bianca Censori, is from Melbourne only, and she visits here with her family, and it has been going on “for a long time”. It is not Bianca but her husband, Kanye, who is banned from the country as he “made a lot of offensive comments that my officials looked at again once he released the Heil Hitler song and he no longer has a valid visa in Australia”.

When the minister was asked whether this decision is “sustainable” enough in this era where the possibility for international concerts is proportional to the growth of the entertainment and music industry, Burke simply replied, “I think that what’s not sustainable is to import hatred,” and it was pretty loud and clear.

Burke also added, “Every visa application gets reassessed by my officials each time. I’m not taking away the way the act operates but even for the lowest level of visa, when my officials looked at it, they cancelled that following the announcement of that song.”

According to a spokesperson for the Australian Home Affairs Department, all non-citizens who are willing to visit Australia are required to fulfill the “character” requirements based on the legal Migration Act. A Petition was previously launched against Kanye that accused him of “repeatedly and openly adhering to symbols and ideology connected with the darkest period of modern global history”. This is not the first time but Ye has been in trouble for promoting Nazi symbols through his Yeezy site.
