KPop Demon Hunters Singers Bring ‘Golden’ to the BAFTAs

The BAFTAs are officially embracing one of the biggest animation success stories of the year, even if it will not be competing for trophies on the night.

EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the singers behind Rumi, Mira, and Zoey from the fictional group HUNTR/X in Netflix’s breakout hit KPop Demon Hunters, are set to perform the film’s record breaking anthem Golden at the BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on Feb. 22. The announcement marks a major moment for the trio as they will be performing live outside the U.S. for the first time. This adds a global spotlight to a film that has already reshaped what animated releases can achieve on streaming platforms.

“Performing at the EE BAFTA Film Awards is a golden moment that our younger selves could never have imagined!,” said EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. “We’re so proud to represent Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters and spread the film’s positive message to fans around the globe.” The performance news follows confirmation that KPop Demon Hunters was ruled ineligible for BAFTA consideration after failing to meet the theatrical release requirement, though its cultural reach has clearly earned it a place on one of the industry’s biggest stages regardless.

Released in June 2025, KPop Demon Hunters has gone on to become Netflix’s most popular film of all time. It drew more than 500 million streams worldwide and turning its animated heroines into pop culture icons in their own right. Its impact has extended well beyond the screen, with ‘Golden’ emerging as a rare crossover phenomenon that dominates both fan playlists and mainstream charts. The track currently stands as the most-streamed song of 2026 with over 4 billion streams and counting, and previously spent eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Among its many milestones, ‘Golden’ became the first female K-pop song to reach the top of the chart and secured the longest No. 1 reign of the 21st century by a female group. Last weekend, it added another historic achievement by becoming the first K-pop song to win a Grammy after taking home the best song written for visual media.

BAFTA leaders have framed the performance as a celebration of the film’s global resonance and the role music has played in its success. “’KPop Demon Hunters’ has had a phenomenal impact on the hearts and minds of audiences of all ages around the world since its release last summer and so we are thrilled the talented singers behind HUNTR/X will bring their K Pop energy to the EE BAFTA Film Awards next month,” said Emma Baehr, BAFTA’s executive director of awards & content. “Not only are we here to celebrate exceptional films and the people who make them, we also want to create an unmissable night of entertainment, and we can’t wait to roll out the EE BAFTA Film Awards red carpet for such an iconic trio.”

The ceremony will take place at London’s Royal Festival Hall, with Alan Cumming hosting the evening. The awards will premiere live on the BBC in the U.K. and on E! in the U.S., giving fans worldwide the chance to watch EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami bring Golden to one of the most high-profile stages in film, and further cement KPop Demon Hunters as one of the defining entertainment moments of the year!
