Pop queen Madonna and Charli XCX are finally joining forces for their first-ever collaborative project, “Danceteria Afterhours,” which also extends the popularity of the album ‘Confessions II’. “Danceteria” is one of the tracks from the album that gained much attention among fans, and now it is being released with a remixed version and with the powerful presence of XCX.

The upcoming ‘afterhours’ version of the song is produced by Stuart Price, Andrew Watt, Cirkut, and Madonna herself. “Danceteria Afterhours” is also being released just a few days before the Pop Queen’s return to the VMAs, or Video Music Awards, by MTV, and it perfectly creates the anticipation and mood for the after-party. The VMAs will take place on Sunday, September 27, and the Queen of Pop will be performing there for the first time in 23 years. It is a long time, and fans are eagerly waiting to watch her live.

Madonna seems to be on a streak of collaborative projects with some of the top artists from every genre, as she has already worked with country artist Kylie Minogue for the project “Love Sensation (Afterhours Mix),” released in August. However, the latest collaboration between XCX and Madonna comes after a silent cold stare between the two pop stars.

In May, Madonna wrote on social media, “If your Dance floor feels dead, maybe you’re playing the wrong music.” Evidently, it was an indication to the BRAT pop artist Charli XCX and her new songs. XCX also offered the perfect reply through the song “Rock Music,” from ‘Music, Fashion, Film,’ where she sings, “I think the dancefloor is dead/So now we’re making rock music.” It is safe to say that both the pop queens poked each other, and now they are collaborating with a ‘bestie’ energy.

A lot of fans are considering it a playful gesture and a rivalry-turned-friendship situation, as there have been rumors of these two pop queens teaming up. The collaboration also follows the CLUB CONFESSIONS party by Charli XCX with Saint Laurent during Paris Fashion Week. Their interaction on social media helped to build more anticipation for the collaboration even before its official announcement.

It goes without saying that “Danceteria Afterhours” will help to bring more traction to the album ‘Confessions II ’, which has already become a major hit in her career. With the consistency and enticing energy in the album, the project can be considered “a 64-minute nonstop” club DJ set that can invite everyone to the dance floor. The album became No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after its release, and it is also her 10th chart-topping album, which made huge opening-week sales since 2012.
