Madonna finally gave her statement after spending quite a few days at the hospital. She says that she feels lucky to be alive at this point and has thanked her fans and loved ones for supporting her. The ‘Material Girl’ singer was recently admitted to the hospital for a bacterial infection, forcing her to postpone the launch of her upcoming international tour. Madonna wrote in an Instagram post on Sunday, “Love from family and friends is the best Medicine”. The statement came about a month after she was released from the hospital.

Reflecting on her journey as a mother, “As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving,” Madonna wrote. “But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference,” she continued. Madonna has a son, Rocco Ritchie, with director Guy Ritchie and a daughter Lourdes Leon with Carlos Leon. She also is a mother of four adopted children, David Banda, Chifundo “Mercy” James, and the twins, Stella and Estere.

In the same Instagram post, the world-famous pop star shared her gratitude toward her fans and friend and manager, Guy Oseary. Oseary gifted her a Polaroid picture of Keith Haring who was “wearing a jacket with Michael Jackson’s face painted on it”. She continued by saying she actually sobbed when she recovered Oseary’s gift and “I realized how lucky I am to be alive. And how fortunate I am to have known these people and so many others who are also gone.” Oseary was the one who announced back in June that Madonna was admitted to the ICU after she developed a “serious bacterial infection.” Earlier this month, the ‘Vogue’ singer announced that she will be rescheduling her international “Celebration” tour to October.
