Christmas is special to everyone and when it comes to the self-proclaimed Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey knows how to celebrate it. However, last year was not like it. Therefore, the singer is determined to make it better this year.

In a recent interview, the 54-year-old vocalist jokingly said, “Years? What are years? I’m unfamiliar with them.” Mariah said that she prefers to live her life “Christmastime to Christmastime.” The artist further said, “I’ve been looking forward to this Christmas for, like, the whole year.” She explained, “Since last year —because last year wasn’t the greatest. I’m thankful for them all, but it wasn’t my most fun version of Christmas ever.”

In order to make up for last year’s subpar experience, Mariah is all set to embark on a “Merry Christmas One and All” tour which is taking place over 14 cities. This special tour is ending on December 17th and the final event will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

This five-time Grammy winner is well renowned for dominating the Christmas music market almost every year. Her hit Christmas single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is the biggest reason behind it ranked at no.4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1994. The song spent a total of 12 weeks at no.1 on the chart.

For the publication of the latest “Merry Christmas One and All” tour, the singer said, “I’ve been working day and night on this one.” She added, “I’ll be doing songs I’ve never done before, some duets. I’ve got to keep some surprises.” This time her family will be also joining her as the 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe are ready to perform with their mom.

Roc will be joining Mariah for the “Here Comes Santa Claus” song where he will be rapping and Roe, on the other hand, will be singing a duet with her mother, “Jesus Born on This Day.”

The “Obsessed” singer is not holding back anything this time as it is clear from the publication that she is not shying away when put in a “diva” label. She said, “I still define the word ‘diva’ the way it is in the dictionary,” she said. “It’s a successful singer, usually a soprano, typically in the opera field.” She further added, “So many people that I know that are called ‘divas’ all the time, don’t take offense to it.”

Christmas 2023 is going to be merrier as Mariah said, “If someone’s like, ‘The diva, so-and-so.’ Who cares? Why is it a big deal? Just take it and be on your merry way.”
