Miami’s internationally acclaimed jazz recording artist Nicole Henry is all set to premiere her virtual concert I Sing Because I’m Happy on Saturday, December 19 at 8 pm EST. The show is being supported by presenting sponsor Savage Ticket. This event is going to benefit the Miami Music Project and is already a highlight of South Florida’s holiday calendar. Nicole Henry

To celebrate the season of faith and hope by inspiring everyone to believe in a greater good and a brighter future, Henry has planned to conduct this show to believe in oneself and also to believe in the children who are the future.

The concert is scheduled to feature a range of genres from pop, soul, and jazz, as well as music from Broadway and the American Songbook, along with some holiday classics and inspirational songs.

This 8th Annual Winter Concert is going to benefit the Miami Music Project, a 501 (c) (3) that shall be filmed live from the Pinecrest Gardens, which is a tropical oasis and a beautiful outdoor concert venue in South Florida. For over seven years, this event has usually sold out 400-seat audience in Miami Beach but now due to the pandemic situation, fans around the world shall have a safe, front-row seat to this six-camera, eight-piece band concert experience.

Recently Henry has stated that she has chosen the theme I Sing Because I’m Happy. After all, 2020 has been a year of uncertainty, isolation, and loss, and that we must now make a conscious effort to stay connected without happiness, collectively.

The concert will be hosted by the award-winning TV personality Laurie Jennings and only one ticket is required for each household.

The general admission tickets are $30 and $55. The VIP tickets are priced at $100 including a pre-concert reception, encore performances, a post-concert zoom meet & greet, and an official Nicole Henry 8th Annual Winter Concert Beach Bag (the U.S. only). The tickets are available at the Colony box office, 1040 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach, online colonymb.org at 800-211-1414.

The ticket buyers can now be able to enjoy the concert online through December 26.

A University of Miami graduate and also a long-time Miami Beach resident, Henry has strongly established herself amongst the world’s most powerful jazz vocalists and the credit goes to her dynamic presence, her impeccable phrasing, and her vibrant emotional resonance. Her passionate voice and untamable charisma have earned her a Soul Train Award for being the Best Traditional Jazz performance, three Top 10 U.S. Billboard and HMV Japan Jazz albums, and Best Solo Musician by Miami New Times.

Henry has also headlined stages in twenty countries, has recorded with great jazz artists like Kirk Whalum, Julian Lage, Gerald Clayton, and Gil Goldstein, and has also performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, and Michael Feinstein.

This October, Henry has been praised for her role as the sister of superstar Rachel Marron in a musical version of The Bodyguard. Nicole as Rachel’s sister Nicki Marron has performed brilliantly. She has a beautiful voice, very strong and firm acting skills and she also brings life to the character with much passion and pathos in her performance, which surely leaves the audience wanting more and even more of the character itself.

Moreover, Henry’s career accomplishments and her active commitment to supporting community non-profits have also been recognized by the City of Miami Beach and the Miami-Dade County through proclamations of Nicole Henry Days in 2011, 2016, and 2017.

Additionally, Ms. Henry serves on the board of the non-profit Miami Music Project which reportedly empowers and transforms children, and ultimately their families and the communities through the study and performance of music. Henry strongly believes that all children deserve access to the various benefits of music education. The Miami Music Project has emerged as a model for music education programs nationally by offering the after-school programming free of charge and has used music as an instrument of social change.

It has been estimated that more than thirty thousand students have been so far served in the past decade by the project’s programming and outreach, with a hundred percent of their graduates attending college on their scholarship.

While praising Nicole Henry, here are the few words stated by the following:

Miami Herald- The vocal love child of Whitney Houston and Sarah Vaughan.

Jazz Times- Henry can sell a power ballad as well as Whitney, Diana, and Patti.

The New York Times- A pop-soul superwoman, confidence, and mastery.
