Psy has unveiled his news ingle “That That”, which will serve as the title track for his upcoming full-length album “Psy 9th.”

The “Gangnam Style” singer released multiple previews for the nest tune, which is produced by BTS member Suga, today. The single, as well as a music video and the remainder of “Psy 9th,” will be released this Friday (April 29th).

Psy appears in a Wild West-Esque town while dressed as a cowboy in the accompanying teaser for the “That That” music video. As a melancholy guitar instrumental plays in the background, he sprints toward the camera and falls as the screen fades to black.

Psy and Suga also discuss meeting each other for the first time in a different tease, and how they feel like they’ve become excellent friends. “When meeting younger artists, I don’t want to be someone who’s hard to approach.” Psy remarked. He also added, “[Suga] wasn’t just my junior in the business, but also he truly feels like a friend. It was hard to feel any age gap.”

Meanwhile, Suga admitted that working with Psy made him “nervous” at first because “he’s many years my senior and someone so who’s so well-respected in the business”. The BTS member, however, stated that it “felt like working with a childhood friend, so it made the songwriting process that much more fun”. He added, “We became besties in a way.”

“That That” is the most recent music from “Psy 9th,” following ‘Celeb’ with Bae Suzy, ‘Happier with K-R&B singer Crush, and a rendition of Jermaine Jackson and Pia Zadora’s 1984 hit single ‘When The Rain Begins To Fall’ with MAMAMOO member Hwasa. Tablo from Epik High, Heize, and Sung Si-Kyung are the other artists with whom Psy is set to collaborate.

Following ‘Psy 8th 4X2=8’ in 2017, ‘Psy 9th’ will be Psy’s first release in five years.

the singer quit longtime agency YG Entertainment a year after releasing ‘Psy 8th 4X2=8’. In early 2019, he founded his label, P Nation, and in the same year, he signed Korean-American rapper and singer Jessi, HyunA, and former PENTAGON member DAWN.
