Riri is one of the most successful women in the world, and people think most of her success in life came from the business brand Fenty Beauty. What people often forget is that she is also one of the most versatile and successful pop singers who reigned in her prime era, and she is still earning from her music. Guess what? Rihanna has recently made history by becoming the first ever female music artist to surpass 200 Million RIAA Singles Certifications,

Despite not releasing a single album in the last 10 years, the ‘Umbrella’ singer ranks as the third most successful artist with 200.5 million units. The top spot is owned by Drake at 277.5 million units, and in the second position, there is Morgan Wallen with 215 million units. However, these artists are actively releasing songs.

Rihanna, on the other hand, is an artist who is more focused on her personal life and business, and she believes she has done enough. But is it enough, though? Her last album release was in 2016, ‘ANTI’, and since then, she has dropped even a single unless it is a movie soundtrack.

In 2022, the singer “Lift Me Up” for the movie ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, which was a tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer. Her last work was “Friends of Mine” for the movie Smurfs in 2025. Without dropping singles and albums continuously, the artist still manages to hold her place as a successful music artist.

When Riri is asked about her next album project, she often says she has been working on it for years. In an interview in 2025, she said, “There’s no genre now. That’s why I waited. Every time, I was just like, ‘No, it’s not me. It’s not right. It’s not matching my growth. It’s not matching my evolution. I can’t do this. I can’t stand by this. I can’t perform this for a year on tour.'”

Rihanna further added, “After a while, I looked at it, and I was like, this much time away from music needs to count for the next thing everyone hears. It has to count. It has to matter. I have to show them the worth in the wait. I cannot put up anything mediocre.”

The ‘Diamonds’ singer has made it certain that her next album will not be a radio-friendly, easy pop project, but rather a more introspective look at her life, and that makes the wait worthwhile.

Recently, in March, a woman named Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was shooting a rifle at her Beverly Hills mansion and was caught by the police. It seems like Riri cannot be taken down easily, not even from the charts!
