South Korean Actress Yoo Ju-Eun Commits Suicide Revealing the Darker Side of the K-Pop Entertainment Industry

South Korean media shared about the death of their superstar on the 27th of August. In the last note, Yoo Ju-Eun has described this profession as a blessing and a curse as well.

The unexpected death of Yoo Ju-Eun has been extremely devastating for the country as also for the k-drama industry. As the actress committed suicide, her last note was found where she described her profession as a blessing and a curse. This has raised questions among many who have been following this industry knows, she is not the only one who has committed suicide. Other actors also have committed suicide, like Goo Hara and Sulli also raised many questions about the darker side of this industry.

Yoo Ju-Eun was just 27 and she started her career when she was 21 years old. Her elder brother conveyed the news to the world by posting about her death via her Instagram account on Tuesday. He wrote, “On August 29, 2022, Joo-Eun left this place and went to a comfortable place,” Yoo’s older brother wrote in the post. “If you have time, please greet Joo-Eun on her way.”

In the Instagram post, he also has included a note written by her dedicating her fans and loved ones. In the opening portion of the note, there was an expression of apology and gratitude for the people who loved her and her work. And the notes continued like, “I’m sorry for leaving first. I’m especially sorry the most to Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Oppa (elder brother). My mind is screaming that it does not want to live anymore. Although life without me may be empty, live bravely. I will be watching over everything. Don’t cry. It’s unhealthy.”

The ‘Big Forest’ and ‘Joseon Survival Period’ actress added more, “I’m not sad at all right now. I feel resolute and calm. I think it’s because I’ve been thinking about this for a while now. I have lived a tremendously happy life that was more than I deserved. So that is plenty enough for me. This is enough. So please live without blaming anyone. I didn’t die.”

She concluded the note with, “It wasn’t easy living that life. I didn’t want to do anything else. That felt hopeless. I realized that doing something that you want is a blessing but only doing that one thing was also a curse.”
