Singer Taylor Swift just dropped a surprise for her millions of fans. The pop sensation released her new album Folklore, comprising of sixteen tracks which she as recorded in complete isolation. This is the iconic singer’s eight studio album and the singer took to her Twitter handle on Thursday morning to reveal the massive news.  It seems that the pop titan has poured all her fears, dreams, and musings into this recent project. Gone are those days when Taylor used to far stretch the anticipation in her fans by dropping minimal hints of her upcoming releases. With time, Swift has recognized that nothing is guaranteed and so quickly pulled off the release of the entire album at one go. Here is a glimpse of all the songs.

the 1:

Try not to cry after you listen to this incredible pop piece. Taylor has yet again perfectly pitched down a song that applies her signature lyrical style that is richly cultured in her detailed voice. The soft, subtle instrumentation proves a perfect match for the song’s essence. The song speaks of a woman whose heart has been cheated upon by a man who fell for some other girl on social media. It’s a beautiful musical journey that ignites the flame every time you listen to it.

Cardigan:

A friend to all is a friend to none is what Taylor sings with her melody soaked voice. The piano-driven song transports you to a different world with its reflective lyrics that bring comfort to the ears but soft anxiety to the heart. Taylor channels everyone to a lush world of harmony where she explores the intricate details of the writing. She sings, and when I felt like I was an old cardigan under someone’s bed serves as the perfect metaphor for the relationship she was clinging onto. She Sings the ballad with utmost reality blurred with the fantasy between the lines.

The last great American dynasty:

The singer gives an outstanding makeover to the extraordinary folklore album with this unexpected track. Each record comes out with different themes and this song dives into the world of folk, indie, and alternative rock most prominently. The glitch production accompanied by the brooding instrumental sounds is fantastically guided by Taylor’s clear vocals to hook. A woman just standing and watching her world crumbling down, the evocative lyrics speak of the complex tales with ease.

Exile (feat. Bon Iver):

The duet song Exile is a melancholic composition and is a soft burner that gradually erupts throughout the melody line. It finishes with a climax where the listener gets cluttered with euphoric emotions. Exile is filled with chorused vocals and rising strings of harmonious instrumentals especially piano connection.

My tears ricochet:

A fascinating pop track indeed, with a sparkling box of instrumentals. Love, heartbreak, and the thousand endless questions that are left unanswered, the song pulls off the perfect lyricism driven with Taylor’s distinctive vocals. The emotion haunts you down and Swift’s songwriting is a jewel. It is a megawatt pop track capsulated in layered vocals throughout. The sing certainly provides some interesting phrases for your next Instagram couple picture.

Mirror ball:

At some point, you might feel that the album is driving at a slow pace but that’s where the true beauty of Folklore lies. Counting on Taylor’s soft pitched yet dynamic voice, Mirror ball is an honest declaration of love and romance. It is different from the other tracks of the album.

Seven:

Husky, stretched vocals drenched in infectious pop melodies are what this song has to offer. Filled with contemporary lyrics, seven speaks of a heart longing for a lost love. Taylor’s vivid storytelling is the real treat.

August:

August puts out a gorgeous record filled with nostalgic memories. It is a story about a one-sided love story and a heart that recognizes love, which can never be accomplished.  She sings you were never mine in a bold new way and encases it with engaging melodies to give off the perfect polish.

This is me trying:

The ninth track of the album is another marvel. The words are pinching and when she sings I just wanted you to know that this is me trying engulfs all the senses. It a clear and straight forward confession but Swift gives the sphere the perfect curve with her infectious voice.

Illicit affairs:

The tenth track is an outstanding breakup soundtrack. Look at this idiotic fool that you made me, Taylor sighs in despair with her magnificent voice in Illicit Affairs. The song is not easy to escape from and the highlighted songwriting is proof that Swift’s music can ignite invisible pain. The album’s most serious and mature song, her voice flattens with pain at the finish.

Invisible string:

Quite an unusual turn form the rest of the bites. Invisible String uses a phrase, Bad was the blood of the song in the cab on your first trip to LA. The song is a window to Taylors’s ongoing relationship.

Mad woman:

Mad woman sees the singer reckoning the person she has become after she has withstood all the harsh realities. The time she sings no one likes a mad woman is sure to hit your soul. Taylor’s voice flows smoothly with the gentle sound strings. Watching you climb on people like me, only expresses her agony. The coherent song is bound to strike a chord with anyone undergone such pain.

Epiphany:

A much sluggish sort of song, the elegant melodies of the track, and Swift’s outstanding voice pulls it out of that zone. The lyricism is crucially curated and the singer discusses her thoughts, reactions, and other theories related to her life. Overall Epiphany feels like an unhurried and soulful creation where she recognizes the worst thing she has done in her life. She accepts the fault ad that she messed up along the way of life. Padded with lightweight guitar strings, the song is unapologetically upbeat and soothing.

Betty:

The song is about 17 years old James who is facing difficulty in waving goodbye to Betty. The surprising harmonica and the acoustic guitar arrangement is a sweet tune about high school romance. The brilliant mix of a new folk-rock sound with hints of the country is new to the ears.

Peace:

Ghost of the past finds peace in the pop delicacy, Peace. With softer melodies, wistful instrumentation, and meaningful writing, the song is most of all honest. The time when Taylor sings, devils in the details but you got a friend in me, makes it all so relatable.

Hoax:

With the rich description, the song is as peaceful as ever with all the intricate melodies. Emotional and empathetic, the song shows her flair of emotional overflow with a beautiful storyline.
