To perform and sing songs from their iconic alum “Inside In / Inside Out,” three venues in Australia’s Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane have been chosen.
Lately commemorating the 15th anniversary of their debut album, “Inside In / Inside Out,” The Kooks have announced a three-show set of Australian tour dates, set to take place later this year.
At each of the three performances, the Brighton band will play the entire album in addition to a few songs from the rest of their six albums (including their upcoming album, “10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark”).
On Tuesday, October 4, The Kooks‘ performance in Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall will mark the start of the tour. On Thursday, October 6, they will perform at Melbourne’s Festival Hall. On Wednesday, October 12, they will conclude their in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre.
This Friday, July 15, at 12 p.m. AEST, tickets for all three performances will go on sale. A pre-sale will begin at the same time the day before.
In January 2006, The Kooks launched “Inside In / Inside Out.” Six of the group’s biggest singles came from it, including “She Moves In Her Own Way,” ” Ooh La,” “You Don’t Love Me,” and “Naïve.”
To commemorate the album’s 15th anniversary. a special edition was released last June. It included a fully remastered audio mix (supervised by Gorillaz and The Killers collaborator John Davis) as well as a number of never-before-heard demos and alternate takes.
The Kooks will perform at this year’s Grapevine Gathering, a music and wine festival that takes place, as its name suggests, in wineries throughout regional Australia, while they are in the country. They will take part in all five performances of the traveling festival, sharing the stage with artists including Confidence Man, Ball Park Music, Peking Duk, and Jack River.
On July 22, Lonely Cat and AWAL will release the whole album “10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark.” Seven of the songs from it have been made available as two three-song EPs called “Connection” and “Beautiful World,” both of which are named for the album’s standout tune, as well as the single “Cold Heart.” The album is now available for pre-order.
