The UK Music has told that the British Music awards will be canceled this year unless the Government comes forward with their helping hand.

The campaigning and Lobby group has shared a detailed report which represents the commercial music industry.

The report is titled ‘Let the Music Play: Save Our Summer 2021’ as a strategy to save and support the UK’s multi-billion pound commercial and live music industry.

In this report, it is written that due to the lack of COVID cancellation insurance the Government should provide some insurance scheme to carry forward the event planning this year.

The Chief executive of UK Music, Jamie Njoku-Goodwin said, “While this pandemic is still raging and continues to cause devastation to lives and livelihoods today, there is an endpoint in sight.”

Even though the Government is openly speculating the situation and rolling out enough vaccines, there are still some risk factors that remain.

The Chief executive further explained the concerns and said, “lack of notice and available insurance options will mean much of the 2021 summer music season can’t go ahead.”

The music industry in the UK plays a vital role in its economy. With that reference, the executive further added, “With the right support the live music industry can be at the forefront of the post-pandemic recovery and play a key role in our country’s economic and cultural revival.”

Last Month, Germany took the initiative and announced a cancellation fund of €2.5 billion to support the events planned in the latter half of 2021 which might get canceled due to COVID -19.
