The Biden-Harris team is all set to organize a pre-inauguration fundraising event titled ‘We the People’. The concert is going to be live-streamed and it is going to be hosted by Debra Messing and Keegan-Michael Key.
The event will take place on 17th January, Sunday at 8 PM ET and the concert will feature major appearances by Michael Bivins, AJR, Sophia Bush, Connie Britton, Ben Harper, Fall Out Boy, Kal Penn, Carole King, Will. i.Am, James Taylor, and Jaime Camil.
President-elect Joe Biden also appears with Dr. Jill Biden along with the Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
For viewing the live-stream, the attendees have been asked to donate in exchange for a link to support and help the inaugural programming of Biden-Harris.
The concert ‘We the People’ is an important part of the ongoing programming that surrounds the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris next week.
At the inauguration next week on 20th January, Lady Gaga is all set to sing the US national anthem at the swearing-in of Biden and there will be a performance by Jennifer Lopez as well.
Tom Hanks is going to host the prime time TV special later that evening as there will performances featuring Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, and Justin Timberlake.
The TV special is aptly titled ‘Celebrating America’ and it is going to run for 90 minutes. The program will be broadcasted live on MSNBC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC on 20th January between 8.30 to 10.00 PM ET and PT.
Tony Allen, the CEO of the Presidential Inaugural Committee has said in a statement that a unique opportunity is presented to showcase the spirit of a united America and its resilience. Furthermore, he added that countless heroes are witnessed in the past years who have served their fellow Americans and the program is all about celebrating the best in the country.
