DMR: ‘Infinity’ is releasing soon. How are you feeling right now?

Athena: I’m feeling excited and a little nervous as it’s a different style of gospel (it has a reggae flavour)

DMR: How did you come up with the idea of this new song?

Athena: I was looking up at the heavens and thought. How wonderful and magnificent it is, and I felt God, ‘Jehovah’, deserves to be praised. I’m a Christian. God Almighty is infinite, and He is everlasting. Therefore, the title for this song had to be ‘Infinity’.

DMR: 30 years is a long time. When did you first start doing music?

Athena: Yes, 30 years is a long time to be singing. I first started singing at church, in the gospel choir, and now I sing at local concerts.

DMR: Name some gospel artists who inspired you the most.

Athena: I’ve always been inspired by the Winans, for their contemporary styles, and Ella Fitzgerald for her negro spiritual sounds.

DMR: What do you think about the modern music industry and its influence on gospel?

Athena: I think that the modern music industry has benefited from gospel due to the choir sounds, and some singers started off singing gospel music.

DMR: Based in South East London, what are your views on the gospel culture in London?

Athena: I think it’s great, there are many gospel artists in London, and there’s room for new creativity and also opportunities to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

DMR: Guide us through your creative process of a gospel creation.

Athena: I record the melody when a song comes to me. Then play it on my guitar, I then play the chords and write the lyrics down as I go along. I go into a studio and use the keyboard and software to lay the music down, and after this, I record the vocals over the music.

DMR: Do you think gospel music can bring a change in this world?

Athena: Yes, I feel gospel music can offer the world an amazing, creative, and special sound to spread the word of Jesus Christ.

DMR: Would you ever like to experiment with other music genres than Christian Music?

Athena: No, I’m quite happy working in Christian or gospel music. I don’t want to work with any other genres.

DMR: Do you want to collaborate with other artists in the near future?

Athena: Yes, I wouldn’t mind working with other gospel singers. I’m open to collaborations and to those who have a serious message.

DMR: Is there another music project you are currently working on?

Athena: I’m working on a new project called ‘Your majesty’. It gives total praise to Jesus Christ.

DMR: What would you like to say to your listeners?

Athena: Please listen and subscribe to Athena Brown Music on YouTube, and please listen to my music on Spotify and Soundcloud. This helps the algorithms. Have a God blessed day.
