Italo-Australian singer-songwriter V Russo is bringing a lifetime of emotion and talent with a new single. She is stepping into the spotlight with ‘The Man I Love’. It is her original composition that she wrote 30 years ago. Now she is releasing the track in her own voice, for the very first time. Released on September 25, 2026, the track is a contemporary pop ballad that brings her deeply intimate story of first love and the memories that are attached to it. The artist also talks about the heartbreak that comes with first love and the story of two people, very much in love, but going their separate ways to the forefront in the song.
Opening with a haunting piano progression, the song gradually builds around Russo’s expressive vocals. ‘The Man I Love’ perfectly captures the vulnerability of a love that leaves a mark. Acclaimed Italian guitarist Luca Colombo also worked on the track and added more depth to the project. Russo’s vision for the song was inspired by the late Italian singer-songwriter Toto Cutugno. Her encouragement during his 1993 Australian tour helped shape Russo’s international ambitions. Now she is bringing that same passion and composition to her audience worldwide.
