Snoop Dogg Biopic Releases Soon in Summer 2027, Featuring Jonathan Daviss

Every influential personality has a biopic in Hollywood, and when it comes to influential personalities, Snoop Dogg is one of the top ones. This global hip-hop star has fans on every corner of the world, and it is time for a biopic to be released. Universal Pictures is set to release a biopic based on the rapper, titled ‘Snoop,’ scheduled for release in the Summer of 2027.

Craig Brewer will direct the movie, and the story is penned by Joe Robert Cole, who also co-wrote Black Panther. The release date for the movie is set on 6 August 2027, and fans are very excited about this announcement. Jonathan Daviss will be playing the role of Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., better known as Snoop Dogg.

This movie will showcase the rise of the rapper from his childhood to a global superstar, as the journey was epic. Starting from delivering newspapers to selling sweets as a kid in Long Beach, California, to becoming a role model for the hip-hop industry, the movie reflects the whole arc of success of the rapper. The upcoming movie will be following the footsteps of previous biopics made on rappers like ‘8 Mile’, ‘Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, ‘Straight Outta Compton,’ etc that showed the life of Eminem, 50 Cent, and groups like N.W.A respectively.

Snoop Dogg appeared at the CinemaCon this year and said, “After my brothers got to tell their story with Straight Outta Compton, now it’s my turn,” which was enough to build the hype for the upcoming movie ‘Snoop’. The rapper also said, “My director, Craig Brewer, he just showed us how hard it is out here for a pimp from Hustle & Flow. And then last year, he got us all singing ‘Sweet Caroline.’  Craig is one of the most talented directors who captivated audiences with his creative works like ‘Song Sung Blue’ and ‘Hustle & Flow’.
