Achilles Tenderloin

The indie folk songwriter and guitarist, Joe Augustin, better known as Achilles Tenderloin, has come up with his new album ‘Tincture for Trouble’. The artist draws inspiration from the pre-war blues stylings of Skip James and showcases the thought-provoking lyricism of the American Folk movement. The entire album exhibits a sublime arrangement of guitars that augment the impact of the artist’s powerful vocal presentation. There are a total of 10 songs in the album, rife with the skillful arrangement of dynamic guitars, wind, choral, and percussions that aim to entertain and immerse listeners into a heightened soundscape.

Tracks like ‘Torch Song’, ‘Don’t Be Long’, ‘ Falls Thistlethwaite’, and ‘Pipedream Blues’ have a certain jiving groove to them that immediately uplift the mood and create an optimistic aura about the song. The others like ‘Blue Silhouettes’, ‘Little Girl Blue’, ‘Kiss the Ground’, ‘Never Trust a Barber’, ‘Tincture for Trouble’, and ‘Howlin’ at the Earth’ don a more somber that creates a haunting realm of music that pierces deep into the psychological depths of listeners. Produced by Patrick Himes at Reel Love Recording Company, ‘Tincture for Trouble’ explores the two dimensions of the artist’s musical disposition – Slide Blues and Folk-Americana. Achilles Tenderloin also has to his musical repertoire insanely sublime albums like ‘Ithaca’ and ‘Stronger Than Wine’.
