Indian Playback singer Nikhita Gandhi’s latest single, ‘Bura Na Mano Yaara’ has been featured on a display in Times Square in New York City just last month. She has been making headlines whenever she releases a new song. The Kolkata-based singer has been quite busy with her latest collection of brilliant songs. The newest song, ‘Humnava’ with Jivitesh Kharbanda has become a massive hit in the country and outside. She has worked with some of the best in the industry such as Shankar Mahadevan, Ram Sampath, Pritam, Salim-Sulaiman, Sachin-Jigar, and Amit Trivedi. Her soothing and therapeutic vocal performance makes each one of her songs a masterpiece.
This is the second time her music has been featured in the New York Times Square Billboard. Her single, ‘Jugnu’ with Badshah nearly five months ago was also got featured in Times Square. The artist herself even didn’t expect the song to become viral in such a short time. She expressed her feeling of working with Badshah was exciting. ‘Bura Na Mano Yaara’ got the feature as a part of Spotify India’s EQUAL campaign that promotes new songs by female artists. This is an original composition by the artist without a label and that is why it is extremely close to her heart.
She recognizes the importance of streaming services that have contributes to the success of not just emerging musicians but the music industry itself. Nikhita Gandhi’s even thanked Spotify in her Instagram post. The artist sings in various regional languages apart from Hindi. But she says that singing in her mother tongue Bengali will always be special to her heart. Born and bred in Kolkata she has been surrounded by music and art from a very young age.
The gifted artist has gained equal fame and recognition in both indie and Bollywood music. She is changing the way Indian music lovers perceive indie music today. She is soon going on her first-ever Ss tour with Armaan Malik next month. Her Hinglish international collaboration will also be released at the same time. She plans to make more music shortly.
