2020 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS: Complete list of Winners and all exciting updates

Amidst the tons of barriers that the coronavirus pandemic has thrown this year, the 2020 American Music Awards went off quite smoothly and glamorously without a hitch from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 22. With Taraji P. Henson hosting, the star-studded show kicked off in full swing but unlike other times, the audiences spotted a few differences this year. For instance, increased safety precautions were being taken by keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic situation. The audience gathering was limited and everyone entering the building was being tested

Coming to the show, the 2020 American Music Awards introduced few new categories, such as Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Male Artist (Rap/Hip-hop), and also Favorite Male Artist, Female Artist, Favorite Song, and Favorite Album (Latin).

Taylor Swift, Dan + Shay, and The Weeknd were the top winners of the night with three apiece. Swift, who already had 29 AMA wins, broke her record and upped her total count to 32 with three new additions that included the top prize and the favorite artist award. The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch earned maximum nominations with eight each while Megan Thee Stallion bagged five nominations. DaBaby and Doja Cat were the ones who were the first-time nominees.

As the night proceeded, the audience witnessed some spectacular performances from Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez and Maluma, BTS, the Weeknd with Kenny G, Megan Thee Stallion, Dan + Shay, Dua Lipa, and many more.
