Miley Cyrus Drops Her Last Name Right Before Her Tenth Studio Album Release

Miley Cyrus, the singer and actress, has dropped her last name recently and will simply be known as ‘Miley’. This announcement startled everyone, but her father has supported her decision completely. On X, Billy Ray Cyrus even defended her decision by giving a statement.

He stated, ‘Family means more than ever now. I always called my little girl Miley. Just … Miley. Just like I always called my little boy Braison. Bet you didn’t know … I was just CYRUS before Achy Breaky Heart came out in 92…. I told Miley yesterday I felt good about her going with her first name. I mentioned Dolly and Cher. Thinking about it more and more … Elvis .. Prince … and so on. It’s a natural progression for an iconic superstar legend. And the legend continues ! Looking forward to the new album’.

At the beginning, regarding her announcement, many rumors started surfacing on the internet. Many even said that she took this decision because of the ongoing tensions between the pop star and his father. Headlines like ‘Pop Star Rebukes Dad With Plan to Change Her Famous Name’ were also seen. However, her own father made a statement and made it clear that it was nothing like that, and it is completely Miley’s decision; he has no objection to it.

This isn’t the very first time she is changing her name. She was born as Destiny Hope Cyrus. But later, she continued with the name Miley Cyrus. Now she just wants to call herself ‘Miley’. After the announcement, it got a mixed reaction from her fans. On social media, people gave their opinion by saying, ‘She wants to be known as one word like Dolly or Cher’. One stated, ‘She’s cutting ties with her dad and I’m all for it’. Another fan said, ‘Everyone just calls her Miley anyways, it’s a good move’.

On the other hand, many stated, ‘How Hollyweirdo of you’. One also said, ‘That’s stupid but okay’. Another one wrote, ‘It’s so eerie to search her up then it just says ‘Miley’. It’s giving Kanye!’

Amidst this massive news, Miley is getting prepared for her upcoming album as well. On 1^st September, she announced the release of ‘Bass Persuades’, which will be released on 18^th September via Atlantic Records. With this album, she is offering a total of 10 soundtracks. Regarding the upcoming release, Miley said, ‘Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong’.

At last she said, ‘Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between. That’s what the title means to me. Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album’.
