Elvis Presley's Lion Claw Necklace Goes for Auction

The iconic golden neckpiece of Elvis Presley will soon be available for auction. The piece is adorned with diamonds and rubies shaped like a ‘lion claw’. Soon, it will hit the auction block at Gotta Have Rock and Roll’s online auction. They are going to start the bidding from a minimum price of $350,000, and they are expecting that the necklace with fetch up to $1,000,000.

This was one of his most-wore pieces, whether it was his daughter Lisa Marie’s Birthday or when he met Muhammad Ali, he was seen wearing this neckpiece on both occasions. Gotta Have Rock and Roll shared, “Elvis can be seen wearing the necklace on Lisa Marie’s Birthday, with Linda Thompson, and most importantly he can be seen wearing the necklace when he met Muhammad Ali both times!”

Apart from that he also has worn this necklace in several of his stage shows. As per Gotta Have Rock and Roll, this neckpiece is “Debatably the most iconic photograph ever of Elvis Presley, he can be seen wearing this exact Lion Claw Necklace. He wore the necklace many times in concerts, with over 30 shows Elvis can be seen wearing this necklace,”

Previous to this auction this neckpiece was owned by the Elvis Presley Museum with musician and close friend Jimmy Velvet. Velvet received the neckpiece in 1978 from Elvis’s father, Vernon Presley. Velvet is often referred to as ‘The Godfather of Memorabilia’; he considers this neckpiece the most iconic piece worn by this legendary singer of all time. The auction for this neckpiece should be witnessing a considerable amount of attention due to the significance of this meticulously crafted lion claw necklace.
