Lyricist Gulzar Laments on KK’s Last Recorded Song ‘Dhoop Paani’ from the Movie Sherdil

The last recorded song by late KK, Dhoop Paani Bahne De is already out now and the fans are reminding him while being emotional. The song revolves around the subject matter of saving nature and the conservation of forests.

The lyrics are penned down by none other than Gulzar who offered a blend of poignancy and deep emotions through the engaging and poetic lyricism. The track is putting up more impact as this is the last track recorded by KK, the heartthrob singer who passed away on 31st May.

As soon as the song surfaced on YouTube, the fans started showering love through the comments and some of them mourned as well. There is no doubt, that the melodic vocals of the singer are still capable of piercing the listeners’ hearts with a deep impact.

When it comes to mourning and lamentation, not only fans but the fellow artists and versatile personas from the Bollywood industry also shed many tears. Gulzar, who write the lyrics for the track is also reminding the last time he saw KK at the recording studio.

 

KK has sung the track ‘Chor Aaye Hum’ from the movie Maachis for Gulzar which melted his heart. Not to mention, ‘Chor Aaye Hum’ is considered to be the KK’s debut track in Bollywood. This song is also written by Gulzar.

The veteran lyricist said, “KK had first sung a song of mine in Maachis, ‘Chhor aye hum woh galiyaan…”. He further added, “When he came to sing the song for Sherdil, it filled my heart with joy. It’s a shame that this had to go down as one of his last songs. It’s like he came to say goodbye.”

Gulzar has also thanked Srijit Mukherjee, the director of ‘Sherdil’ for giving him this opportunity to meet KK and work with him again. The movie is based on the environment and the song is sharing an important message through KK’s magical voice.

Wishing for KK’s presence, he said, “Pity it wasn’t in our hands. I will pray for and remember him. Wherever Sherdil goes, his memory will accompany us.”

The movie ‘Sherdil’ is scheduled to be released on June 24, featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Sayani Gupta, and Neeraj Kabi.
