Ed Sheeran’s Brand New Track ‘Drive’ Features on ‘F1: The Album’ from the Movie

Brit pop singer Ed Sheeran has debuted his brand new track ‘Drive’ which is getting featured on the ‘F1: The Album’ which is a complete collection of the soundtrack from the upcoming movie ‘F1’. In this movie, Brad Pitt is starring as the protagonist who is also a veteran Formula One racer in the movie.

‘F1: The Album’ is currently gaining much attention from music lovers which is produced by Blake Slatkin and everyone’s favorite John Mayer. The song ‘Drive’ is currently available to stream on major music platforms.

The track ‘Drive’ is perhaps the most iconic collaborative music project where Ed Sheeran offered vocals and Mayer handled the guitar, Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters took care of drums, Pino Palladino was on Piano, Rami Jaffee and Slatkin on keyboards, and additional. The contributions of each talented music artist have helped to develop this amazing music project.

Sheeran has been already building much anticipation regarding the track which was quickly put together in the studio with Mayer and Slatkin. The singer said, “the song fell out of us” and further added that Mayer “just whacked an octave pedal on and went wild” in order to get the riff of the song.

Working for movie soundtracks is definitely an exciting offer for Ed Sheeran. Ed expressed, “Movies are my hobby and probably the only thing other than sport that I get, like, starstruck to be part of. Not just directors or actors or whatever, but being a part of the journey of a movie is so exciting for me.”

The full version of the ‘F1: The Album’ will be released on June 27 via Atlantic Records and listeners are eagerly waiting for it as many other artists’ tracks will be featured in it. The leading song from the album is “Lose My Mind,” by Don Toliver feat. Doja Cat. The other tracks include artists like Tate McRae, Burna Boy, Rosé, Roddy Rich, Myke Towers, Chris Stapleton, RAYE, and many others. Atlantic’s president of the West Coast, Kevin Weaver has helped to develop this project along with Brandon Davis and Joseph Khoury.

Ed Sheeran on the other hand is also preparing to launch his upcoming album ‘Play’ which is scheduled to drop in September. The anticipation for this album is also high as it is embarking on a new musical chapter after his ‘Mathematics’ album series.
