Bally540

DMR: “Pursuit Of Happiness” is releasing soon! Are you feeling the pressure of releasing your debut album project?

Bally540: DEFINITELY!!! I’ve been working on it for 3 years I’ve made a bunch of changes a bunch of times making sure everything is perfect. I know nothing is perfect but….I just want it to be great!

DMR: Please share your creative process and idea behind making this project.

Bally540: well for one the movie Pursuit Of Happiness Staring Will Smith is my favorite movie because it had a deep message. “Never stop going after what you want” basically, and I just wanna be HAPPY!!!! So as soon as I started to work on an album, the name came naturally.

DMR: As a talented hip-hop and trap artist from NY, what kind of obstacles does Bally face?

Bally540: regular everyday things. Nothing too traumatic to speak about really. Feel like I’ve been through so much in life already, obstacles come with each step. So I step right over them.

DMR: Would you like to tell us why you decided on your artist name, Bally540? Does it signify something personal to you?

Bally540: well back in 2011-2012 a rapper named chief keef became really famous. And his right hand man who also rapped-name was “Ballout” or “Bally”. I used to listen to him allot. So one day my friends and I are at the mall and I get me and the girl I’m dealing with at the time about 3 pair of sneakers a piece. So my friends look at what’s in my hand and say “OK BALLY OK BALLOUT YOUR GETTING MONEY!!!!” Hahaha so that day it stuck and it’s been stuck ever since.

DMR: With the wide attention of “Can’t lose” and “TRAPPER”, would you drop more tracks from the album before its release?

Bally540: Yes actually, the last singles I’m going to release off the album are called “Lil’ Stet & S” and “Crack Cocaine pt. 2”. The single for Lil Stet & Si will be out June 9th and the video will come along with the album drop-Same day. And the video for Crack Cocaine Pt. 2 will be released in July.

DMR: As an up-and-coming music artist from Troy, how would you describe the local music scene?

Bally540: it’s great!!! In fact I’ll name drop so people can get in tune because I’d bet my left arm not only Troy Ny is about to hit the industry, but the WHOLE UPSTATE. But I’ll name some rappers who are from here that’s VERY TALENTED

-Bally540 (obviously)

-Hank Stacks (label-mate at Circle 24 Recordings)

-KTS AEazy

-DTB

-Selli Paper

-Hundo

-TooCool

-JblaccFrmDa9

-GroundUpRell (Aka 30)

-YNG Tone

Just to name a few!!!!!! Music scene is very talented.

DMR: You have already amassed more than 50k plus views. What tips would you give to the rising artists to make significant progress like you at the initial stage of their career?

Bally540: I wouldn’t use the word “Significant” because I feel I’m still in Troy. Same car, same house, BUT at the same time I’ve been working really hard and minor results are starting to show. The main thing I’d tell an artist is just work. Don’t talk. Nobody cares about your dreams. Maybe 1 or 2 people. Just work. If you KNOW you can make it and KNOW your Music is good, what’s there to talk about? JUST WORK!

DMR: What is your view on the modern music industry?

Bally540: don’t view it really. I mean I study it, I see what’s going on, but I never really look at what’s “Trending”. I feel a trend is only gonna go but so far. I also feel if you make GOOD MUSIC or a GOOD SONG, youll last forever in music history. You’ll be known in the industry for life. One things I’d want the hip hop media to do is kind of separate certain hip hop genres. Someone like Meek Mill shouldn’t be getting compared to someone like Lil Yatchy ALBUM SALE WISE, FANBASE WISE or anything period. I just feel everyone compares everyone. But when I was growing up, you had the cool kid rap over here, trap and gangster rap over there, dancing rap over there and real bar spitting hip hop over there. I don’t know. If you like it you like it, if you don’t, it’s not for you. No need to comment on it. I just want it to get back like that!

DMR: When did you first start making music? Share your journey.

Bally540: I feel everyone and I mean everyone in the urban community unknowingly raps. From an aunty or a grandmother, everyone has said a quick “rhyme or bar” weather trying to be funny or not. It’s just an urban thing. Now if you like it and wanna pursue it, that’s when you become a musician. But I used to rap with my man Jaylen when we were in high school we just didn’t record. I start recording around 2014, released my first music video and song in 2016, and took began to pursue it as a career/take it serious when I had my son in 2022.

DMR: How is the experience of working with the label Circle24 Recordings?

Bally540: it’s a label I started and it’s pretty cool to see people acknowledging it or asking questions about it. I don’t run it tho it’s ran by people that like to be behind the scenes and they believe in me. We have more “staff” than musicians haha. It’s me and my mans I named earlier “Hank Stacks”. So we’re just trying to get this off the ground and see where it takes us. C24 babyyyyyy

DMR: Would you be dropping more projects this year following the debut album?

Bally540: yes I’ll be dropping “PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS: AHSAD. Just an extended version of the first version. Didn’t really wanna do a deluxe or whatever. Nor a part 2. So I just decided I’ll make it 2 parts. One named after me, another named after my son.

DMR: What would you like to say to your fans?

Bally540: well first, I appreciate you guys for the interview! Taking your time outta your day to get to know me. So thanks I’m forever grateful. But-I don’t like to call them fans I like to say, “that’s gangnem” And if I got gangnem out there (fans) thanks for rocking with me and if ya see me say what’s up!!!! I’ll say what’s up back I ain’t mean. Just not while I’m with my son!!!!!

PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS THE ALBUM DROPPING JUNE 22 EVERY WHERE, EVERY PLATFORM, EVERY STATE CITY COUNTRY GONE BE BUMPING THAT!!!!
